“To be always serious, like most of us are, is very boring.”
– Gaetano Pesce

Architect, designer, renaissance man Gaetano Pesce has a simple guiding principle. He believes modernism is not so much a style as an interpretation of the present – and a ‘hint’ of the future.

His work is featured in more than 30 permanent collections in museums such as MOMA, New York and San Francisco; Metropolitan Museum, New York; Vitra Museum, Weil am Rhein, Germany; Victoria and Albert Museum, London; Pompidou Centre and Musee des Arts Decoratifs of Louvre, Paris.

To Pesce, boundaries between art, design and industry are irrelevant. Art, he says should not be put on a pedestal. It is, instead, a product – our creative response to the needs of the time we live in.

Mondopiero stocks the Edizioni del Pesce art pieces and objects designed by Gaetano Pesce and made by Meritalia, Italy.
